FRAME PROGRAM

6th September 2010 (Monday) - following the tradition, first day of the Meeting will be devoted to the General Assembly of Delegates (Crystal Hall) and the PBS Board meetings (Crystal Hall).

7th September 2010 (Tuesday) – the opening ceremony, followed by a plenary session entitled “Planta in vivo, in vitro et in silico” (Crystal Hall).

8th and 9th September 2010 (Wednesday and Thursday) – lecture and poster sessions of PBS Sections (Forestry Faculty building - no 34).

1st to 5th and 9th to 11th September 2010 – field sessions.
There are eighteen field sessions planned for the Meeting: three prior to the Meeting, three starting on the last day of Sections’ sessions and twelve beginning after the end of Sections’ topic sessions.

Field sessions staring prior to the Meeting:
1st – 4th September 2010 – The vegetation of Southern Lithuania (1)
3rd – 5th September 2010 – The vegetation of Wigierski National Park (2) - cancelled
3rd – 5th September 2010 – Active protection of water-peat ecosystems in Poleski National Park, departure at about 4 PM (3)

Field sessions beginning on Thursday 9th (before the end of Sections’ topic sessions):
9th – 11th September 2010 – Peculiarities of the vegetation in Rospuda River valley and other peat bogs in North-East Poland, departure at about 4 PM (4)
9th – 11th September 2010 – Eems, Vistulian and Holocene history of the peat bog vegetation in Białostocka Highland (North-East Poland), departure at about 4 PM (5)
9th – 11th (12th) September 2010 – Vegetation dynamics in natural forest ecosystems in Białowieża Forest, 2.5- or 3.5– day trip, based on participants’ decision, departure at 4 PM (6)

10th – 11th September 2010 - Upstream the Narew River. The vegetation of one of the last big Polish rivers whose valley is extensively cultivated (13)
11th September 2010 – The fungi of anthropogenic habitats in Central Poland (14) - cancelled
11th September 2010 – Warsaw little-known parks and green areas as wild nature reserves (15)
11th September 2010 – Problems with reserve protection of forest ecosystems in Puszcza Kozienicka (16) - cancelled
11th September 2010 – The vegetation of dunes and swamps in Puszcza Kampinoska (17)
